The rental car company started as a Rent-a-Wreck franchise in April 2007 with a 2001 Buick LeSabre.  By 2008, we had expanded to Houlton, the Presque Isle Airport, changed our name to Maine Rent A Car DBA ACE Rent A Car, and had about 35 vehicles in our fleet.
Between summer of 2008 and summer of 2011 we operated our 4
th location out of Frenchville in a local body shop that allowed us rental opportunities with the valley population.  In June 2011, we moved out of North Country Auto in Presque Isle into our own location at 87 State Street.

We found success by taking the same values that made Enterprise Rent-a-Car the premier rental car company in the world:

  • We’ll pick you up
  • Give you a competitive price
  • Handle all the paperwork for any insurance rental
  • Give you a clean and new car
  • Take you back home.

Customer service has always been our biggest asset.   In 2012, we were unable to use our location in Frenchville and chose then to expand to Calais.  We were able to create a good relationship with a body shop there, and house 3-5 cars most summers.  In August of 2013 we re-located for our 3rd and final time to 113 Parsons Street, and find that location to be key to access the airport for business, and route 1 for either downtown Presque Isle, or head north to Caribou and beyond.

In August of 2015, the company was sold to Darick Williams and in this short time has increased the fleet to over 40 vehicles, has created a much needed Caribou presence, and brought in the limousine rental service as an addition to the car rental company.
